Jose Iglesias doesn’t strikeout much against left-handed pitching.  He has an 8% strikeout rate against vs LHP since the start of the 2016 season, lowest in MLB.  Last year he struck out just eight times in 95 at bats against LHP…Iglesias also has a swing and miss rate of just 11% against LHP since the start of 2016, second best in MLB…

Shane Greene bears down with the best of them with RISP.  He has allowed a slugging percentage of just .214 with RISP since the start of the 2016 campaign.  Last season, with RISP, opponents hit just .162 against the Tigers closer…

Miguel Cabrera is looking to improve his road numbers this season.  In 2016 he hit .311 with 18 homers away from Comerica Park.  Last season the numbers dropped to just .213 with only 5 homers..Miggy loves to hit the ball the other way with power.  Since the start of 2016 24 of his 55 home runs have been hit to the opposite field, 3rd in MLB

Nicholas Castellanos likes to do damage when leading off an inning.  He drew just 3 walks in 142 PA in 2017, 3rd lowest in MLB.  Castellanos also hit .629 last year on balls that were line drives…

Michael Fulmer allowed a slugging percentage of just .320 against the middle of the order in 2017, tops among qualified starters in MLB…Fulmer also allowed just a .212 average the third time through the order in 2017…Fulmer has 249 strikeouts since 2016, none have come on the changeup…

Victor Martinez loves the low fastball.  Since the start of the 2016 season he has a swing rate of nearly 48% on low fastballs, 5th highest in MLB..VMart also had a .355 average on balls he hit to the pull field in 2017…

Leonys Martin has attempted to bunt for a base hit 121 times since 2016, or 16% of his plate appearances.  The MLB average over that time is just 2.2%
